Transforming a near deralict maintenance building into state-of-the-art offices and testing workshop

Rotork are a manufacturer of gears, controls and actuators who have a world-leading factory located in Bath, which acts as the focal point for their worldwide operation. This adjacent building provided further space to expand operations.

BJP was responsible for the full design of the M&E services which included comfort cooling, heat pump technology and heat recovery ventilation.

Power and data in the office areas was designed without the need for visually intrusive power poles despite the constraints on service runs. Specialist scene lighting was used in the boardroom. Detailed coordination of service runs was required to ensure that there was sufficient space and that services would be hidden wherever possible.

BJP worked closely with the client and contractor during the construction period to ensure the building was delivered on time and on budget. At completion the previously decapitated building had been transformed into a stylish modern office and efficient storage facility.
